Gallimaufry with Rice

¶ How is your vocabulary? I donated 300 grains of rice the first time that I tried this online game. Then the AI started serving up all these Latinate terms. Level 50 is the top?? (Hat tip: Odious and Peculiar.)

¶ Ancient Egyptians dealt with zombies too. (Hat tip: Glenn Reynolds.) Pluvialis agrees: we need to know these things.

¶ Hecate is getting testy about media Witches. I think there is a Gresham's Law of spokespeople: the weird drive out the sensible.

¶ Deborah Oak wonders if Elvis is a god yet.

I think I ended up at level 46 when I did this the other day; I was at 48 for a while, then it dumped a bunch of archaic medieval terms on me, and my etymological powers couldn't quite keep up... :(

I like the "medieval" terms: I know that "parr" are young salmon. It's the Latin...

You are right: the words get much harder at level 48. If anyone has gone over 50, let me know. That may just be the maximum level.

Re: Elvis as a god. Check out Walter Jon Williams "The Crown Jewels" or "House of Shards" if you're skiffy tolerant.

I got up to 50 (briefly) this time... I think that is the ceiling. Over 1000 grains of rice!
