The Book Pile

The stack of books that I am reading.

Following the example set by Steve Bodio and others, here is my current book pile: part of what I am reading (for research, for reviewing, for pleasure) and in the case of Pharmakognosis, re-reading.

I invite my blogging readers to post their own.

Oh my Gods, you have the companion book to Greek religion? As in a book that can translate Walter Burkert's book that everyone tells me is wonderful, but yet I still can't understand what he is talking about Greek religion book?

A Companion to Greek Religion is a new anthology, edited by Daniel Ogden and published this year by Blackwell's. Its entries cover many different facets of Classical Greek religion, such as "Local Religious Systems" and "Social Organization, the Family, and Sex." Those are just two of the subheadings, each containing several essays.

Thank you for clarification. I only have Walter Burkert's Greek Religion.

Mr. Burkert's Book covers many of the same subjects only I have issues with the translator. (I am gonna blame it on the translator anyway). It was originally published in German.

Hi Chas, oh that looks like a good pile. I've also got Nicki Bardo-Fralick's "Coming to the Edge of the Circle" in my book pile. That "Pharmako Gnosis" looks interesting, as does the "Companion to Greek Religion".
