Prof. Synecdoche on graduate school

I have been thinking of starting a series of posts about Pagans in academia, mainly because I periodically get these naive questions about "Where can I major in Pagan Studies?" (Short answer: almost nowhere, and who would hire you if you did?)

Meanwhile, blogger Professor Synecdoche has a good post with basic truths about graduate education.

Any serious Dept. for Comparative Religion Studies can help specific grad/masters/pHD students focus on pagan studies (old or new). That's what I do. Sure, it's a new subject, because it's a new phenomenon. Doesn't mean you can't study it.

Indeed, people are focusing on Pagan Studies in graduate school--when they can find committee members who feel qualified to supervise a thesis or dissertation. The employability question, however, remains huge.

I would love to see a series on Pagan academics. But I'm kinda weird that way.
