Andrew Chumbley

Andrew Chumbley, who died this month on what would have been his 37th birthday, pursued an individualistic form of Traditional Witchcraft, not to mention other byways of magic. Comparisons between his life and that of Austin Osman Spare are inevitable, especially when you consider Chumbley's artwork.

a most unnatural expiration. Could it be that someone didn't like what he had to say? perhaps he was actually getting somewhere...

Or maybe it was the fact that Chumbley attempted to create an artifical current from nothing and pretend it was real. Also the fact he bastardised/corrupted god names in the Azoetia. You dont fuck with god names and come away in one piece. At best Chumbley was a plagiarist who took much of his ideas from Spare with a bit of made up kabbalah flung in.
